Three reasons an app fails
First, a government order. Hundreds of apps have been blocked since 2020, and operators refuse to carry their traffic. Second, the publisher left the Indian Play Store and App Store, so you cannot install or update. Third, the app works but slows down in the evening, because your operator's route to its servers is crowded. A VPN for apps handles the first and the third directly. One warning before you go looking for installers. The demand for missing apps has created a market of fake ones. What apps look at
- The IP address: every app checks it. A key changes it.
- The SIM country: some apps read it. A VPN cannot change it, but few apps act on it.
- The store region: this matters for installing and updating, not for using the app.
- The phone's language and time zone: these rarely matter.
- The account's own history: changing city often can trigger a security check.
